Mount Pleasant Community Centre opens

Vancouver's newest community centre officially opened its doors in Mount Pleasant on Saturday.
The Mount Pleasant Community Centre, located at the corner of Main Street and Kingsway, is a one-stop recreation stop for Vancouverites. The new facility is home to the Mount Pleasant Library, a child care centre, a climbing way, fitness centre, dance studio, multi-purpose rooms and even rental housing.
It replaces an older facility that was located just one kilometer away.
The official opening featured a formal ceremony at 1:00 p.m., but interested Vancouverites could tour the facility nearly all day.
The centre will be open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends
